A flat heart shaped blade is positioned at an angle to the long handle, so that it can be pushed along the ground under each cut turf. By using a back and forth motion, the flat blade will cut through the soil and roots to produce a smooth surface that makes it much easier to reuse the turf elsewhere. Made from heat-treated (hardened) carbon steel to provide both strength and durability. Powder-coated finish provides improved resistance to rust, scratches, humidity and alkaloids in the soil.
